Part One

When I was asked if I’d be interested in writing for the Farsight Files website, I was a little surprised! But more excited at being given the opportunity to write about a subject I feel quite strongly about. The paranormal. &, to be able to share some of my personal experiences with people that are like minded, interested or similarly have had unexplainable experiences of their own.

Born in Hertfordshire, I lived with my parents as an only child, until when I reached the age of 2 we tragically lost my dad in a plane crash. I wonder if this added to my “sensitivity” in the years to come.

As a child, even after my dad’s passing I never experienced any “paranormal happenings” that I can remember, although I did have a couple of imaginary friends, who in later life I realise may not have been quite so “imaginary” after all!

When I was 9, mum & I moved to Cornwall, an area with quite a historic ghostly past in itself. We moved in to the remote countryside from quite a busy area of Hertfordshire, but we loved it & lived there in our cottage for the next 5 years living a relatively “normal” life!

When I reached the age of 14 my life began to change quite dramatically. I began to hear voices, whispers in my head & ears. This became so bad that it used to keep me awake at night. Thankfully, my mum had always had an interest in mediums & all things slightly paranormal, & she knew somebody (another medium) that explained to me how to control these voices. An “on, “off switch if you like. Needless to say I was very grateful for her input, & glad to get back to getting a good night’s sleep!

We began to realise the seriousness of my gift when I had a visit from my dad, which, looking back was really the first reading I actually did for anyone. How appropriate then that it was for my own mum & dad?

Much to my mum’s surprise I told her about occasions with my dad I had no prior knowledge of, & gave her information that only the 2 of them were able to confirm. It was after this amazing experience that the reality of what I could do began to sink in.

For about the next 10 years my clairvoyance became just part of who I was, although I chose not to broadcast it to anyone & everyone, I did do the odd reading for people who asked me to do so. In reality though, my gift was put on the backburner for a lot of this time due to the other commitments a teenage girl has going on in her life!!!

As a younger woman who was a bit shy, I was afraid of being judged for what I could, do & how people would treat me for it, I am glad to say that as I have got older this fear has become less & less & I have become more confident & more able to tell people about my medium ship which has lead to some great results.

I have discovered the more ready & waiting I make myself to the spirit world, the more people in “this” world seem to “find” me for a reading, some of which I would like to share with an interested audience……..
